About Forex Market Hours Online
This tool shows the current opening and closing times of the four major forex trading sessions — Sydney, Tokyo, London, and New York — in your local timezone. It also highlights when sessions overlap, since those are the most liquid and volatile trading windows.
Unlike stock exchanges, forex runs 24 hours from Monday morning in Asia to Friday evening in New York. But not all hours are equally active. The London/New York overlap (roughly 8 AM to noon Eastern) sees the highest volume on major pairs and the tightest spreads, while the Sydney-only window often produces choppy, range-bound action.
Use this tool to plan when to trade specific pairs. EUR/USD and GBP/USD are most active during European hours; AUD/USD and NZD/USD wake up during the Asian session.

How to read forex market hours and session overlaps
No fields to fill in
This is a display-only tool — there's no schema other than an empty object. Open the page and the timezone selector, session strip, and world clocks update live in your browser. "Run" returns just a confirmation message.
Pick a timezone
Choose Auto (follows your device) or a fixed IANA zone at the top. The session bar, overlap bands, and individual hub clocks all relabel into the zone you pick — easier to plan around your day.
Read the session strip
The 24-hour strip shows which hubs (London, New York, Tokyo, Sydney) are open at the current moment. Overlap bands highlight when two or more majors are liquid together — typically the prime time for execution.
Know the limits
Hours shown are standard hub windows for planning — not your broker's server hours or symbol-specific session rules. A short maintenance gap is modeled for Sydney's open, mirroring common retail calendars. Treat output as a guide, not execution advice.
