What this tool does

Social card preview turns a URL into a live visual preview of the share cards that social apps build from your page's meta tags. It fetches the page once and renders how the link will appear on X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, and Slack or Discord—the title, the description, the thumbnail image, and the domain—so you see the real card instead of guessing.

What it reads

The tool reads your page's Open Graph and Twitter Card tags: og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:site_name, plus twitter:card, twitter:title, and twitter:image. When a tag is absent, it falls back to the page's plain <title> and its meta description, mirroring how most platforms decide what to show.

Why it matters

A shared link is often the first thing people see, and a broken card—missing image, wrong title, stale description—quietly costs you clicks. Previewing the card lets you see and fix how your link looks before you post. The most common problem it catches is a missing or wrong og:image, which leaves your card blank or filled with the wrong picture on every platform.

Missing tags & requirements

When a key tag is absent, the tool flags it as a warning—for example, "no og:image" or "no og:description"—instead of silently hiding the gap. Because it fetches the live page, the URL must be publicly reachable: pages behind a login, a paywall, or a private network cannot be read.
