About Subscription Compare Calculator Online
This tool compares the long-term cost of two or more subscription plans — monthly vs annual billing, competing services, or different tiers of the same product. Enter the price and billing period for each option, plus your expected usage period, and it shows the total cost of each plan over that horizon.
Annual plans are usually cheaper per month than monthly billing — typically 15-25% cheaper. But annual commitment makes sense only if you're confident you'll keep using the service. Cancelling a $120 annual plan after 3 months still costs more than 4 monthly $15 charges.
Use it before signing up for any new subscription, when an existing provider is pitching an upgrade, or when reviewing your recurring spending to identify cuts.
How to use this tool
How to compare monthly vs annual subscription pricing
Monthly price
"Monthly plan price" is what you'd pay per month on the month-to-month plan — before any sign-up discount. Use the currency the SaaS charges in.
Annual plan total
"Annual plan total" is the yearly lump sum (NOT per-month equivalent). If the plan is shown as $X/month billed annually, multiply by 12 before entering here.
Press Run
Result returns twelveMonthsAtMonthlyRate (monthly × 12) and savingsVsMonthly (twelveMonthsAtMonthlyRate − annual). Positive savings = annual is cheaper.
Caveats this doesn't model
No risk of usage dropping mid-year, no cancellation refund policy, no price-change risk on month-to-month. The annual price often locks you in — factor that into your decision even when savings look attractive.
