How to convert AVIF to BMP

1. Upload your AVIF file

   Click the upload area or drag an AVIF image onto it. The file is read locally — nothing is sent to a server before conversion begins.

2. Convert

   Press the Convert button. Sharp decodes the AVIF and re-encodes it as a 24-bit BMP. No quality setting is needed; BMP is lossless and uncompressed.

3. Download the BMP

   When the output appears, click Download to save the .bmp file. BMP files are large because they store raw pixel data — expect the output to be much bigger than the source AVIF.

4. When to use BMP output

   BMP is best for legacy Windows workflows, old image-processing pipelines, or anywhere that requires an uncompressed raster with no metadata overhead. For general use, PNG gives the same lossless quality at a fraction of the size.
