How to convert GIF to WebP

1. Upload your GIF file

   Click the upload area or drag a GIF image. The conversion runs locally in the tool pipeline.

2. Set quality (optional)

   The Quality slider sets WebP lossy compression. 80 is a sensible default — the result will be noticeably smaller than a JPEG at the same visual quality. Set to 100 for near-lossless output.

3. Convert

   Press Convert. Sharp encodes the output as WebP, preserving alpha transparency if the source has it.

4. Download the WebP

   Click Download to save the .webp file. WebP is supported by all modern browsers and produces smaller files than JPEG or PNG for both photos and graphics.
