How to remove the password from a PDF you own

1. Upload the locked PDF

   Drop the password-protected .pdf into the "Locked PDF file" field. The tool refuses files that aren't encrypted (there's nothing to unlock).

2. Enter the current password

   Type the password that opens the PDF today into the "Current password" field. Usually that's the user password; if the file opens without a prompt but still uses encryption, try the owner password here.

3. Press Run

   The server tries to decrypt with pdf-lib, then re-saves the document with no encryption. If the password is wrong, you'll get an error — there's no brute-force guessing built in.

4. Download and store responsibly

   Output is base64 PDF you can download as unlocked.pdf. Only remove password protection from files you own or are authorised to modify — this tool is not a defeat for rights management.
